The Journey:
The transformation of The Prim began with a small, nonfunctional space that lacked the allure it deserved. Today, it stands as a testament to our commitment to crafting spaces that offer a primitive yet polished experience every time you step in.
The challenge presented itself in the form of a sloped ceiling, limiting layout options, especially with the intention to add a shower, keep the tub, and install a larger vanity.
The Details:
Our skilled drywaller restored the plaster ceiling with a flawless “orange peel” effect, infusing the bathroom with a unique character. Embracing imperfections as an art form, we seamlessly integrated the uneven edge where the plaster ceiling met the tile, enhancing the primitive charm of the space.
A crucial element in tying the entire bathroom together was the custom-designed vanity. Considering the sloped ceiling, our focus was not only on aesthetics but also functionality. The drawers were crafted for practical use, ensuring comfort in the slightly angled area, creating the primary standing space at the center of the integrated concrete sink basin. The result is a beautiful vanity that harmonizes form and function, complemented by a well-thought-out mirror selection and strategic lighting placement.
The spacing from the floor to the sloped ceiling called for great intentionality with the tile placement, we mitered tiles around the tub and shower niches, the bathroom floor is sloped solely in the shower to accommodate a linear drain, with the shower glass lining up beautifully into this sloped transition. Everything exudes stellar quality. The large grout lines between tiles add a touch of interest that we are truly elated with. All of this, providing the bathroom with the unique character it needed to compete with the charm in the rest of this sweet farmhouse.

The Name:
In crafting this primitive experience, inspiration was drawn from the design’s matte, polished, natural, neutral, and authentic elements. Hence, we christened this transformative space as “The Prim.” It’s a harmonious balance between primitive and polished, capturing the essence of this unique renovation.
Our Approach:
